How often is it possible to take and re-take exams to obtain the permit to work as a doctor in Poland?

Unfortunately, not all the attempts are successful the first time. Today we will tell you how soon you can try your hand after an unsuccessful result.

  1. Examination in NIL – medical Polish. It should be noted that the exam has 4 parts, and it happens that one or more parts are not passed when assessing your knowledge. In any case, a second attempt is possible no earlier than 6 months later.
  2. Nostrification – this test can be passed in various state medical universities in Poland. The number of attempts during the year is not limited – after a failure at one university, you can immediately apply to another. Each university conducts a nostrification exam once a year. Only your financial capabilities can be limited during retake. The exam is expensive. It is worth remembering, that in Bialystok, for example, a repeat attempt is included in the price, and you can retake it about a month after the first one.
  3. LEK – final medical exam. It is taken after or during postgraduate training. You can take the exam 2 times a year. The first attempt is free.
  4. PES is the most difficult exam, which can also be taken twice a year, with one exception. If you were removed from the exam, for example, for talking, using the phone or cheat sheets, then you will not be admitted to the exam for a year.

You will have to pass many exams in order to work as a doctor in Poland. This can take a lot of time and money. Therefore, it is better to prepare thoroughly for each of them.
