Solidarity with Ukraine: humanitarian aid program from the EUROMED Foundation.

Every day, reading information about thousands of innocent Ukrainians killed and about the humanitarian catastrophe that Eastern Europe faced, people forget about the funds that help Ukraine every day. Since the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, we have been conducting the largest humanitarian aid operation in the history of our EUROMED Foundation.

A few weeks ago, thousands of Ukrainians did not even imagine that they would have to defend their homeland. Thanks to the work of EUROMED volunteers, this week we donated humanitarian aid to Ukraine – medicines, which are now in greatest need. Such assistance from the EUROMED Foundation is very valuable for Ukrainians, because each humanitarian kit with medicines is a chance to save a human life, and thousands of such kits save thousands of lives.

The European Foundation for the Development of Medicine and Education EUROMED is increasingly receiving support from local and international partners for the implementation of the “HELP UKRAINE!” project. The official fundraising is an expression of solidarity with our neighbors and at the same time provides concrete assistance on the spot. In Poland, our foundation raises money, which is subsequently distributed to purchase vital items for people in Ukraine. Every citizen of our country who supports Ukrainians in their desire to protect their state can help financially. Your support can change the fate of Ukrainians affected by the war.

Spain and other EU countries that provide humanitarian aid to the EUROMED Foundation for Ukraine have already joined us. Our task is to sort everything, form and deliver the cargo from Poland to Ukraine, and track the receipt of the cargo and its distribution to those in need.

On Wednesday, April 13, another batch of humanitarian aid from EUROMED went to the territory of Ukraine to the city of Cherkasy, from where it will be distributed to cities in particular need. We traversed a 1,300 km route to Kharkiv and almost 1,000 km to Chernihiv to deliver over 20 tons of food, baby food, personal care products, and medicines. In a few days, this aid will go to distribution points in the East of Ukraine, which is controlled by the territorial defense and local authorities, so that they can then pass it on to the population. We also handed over a Land Rover Highlander to the EUROMED representative in Ukraine for the implementation of humanitarian tasks.

We know that the needs of people who have not yet left Ukraine but are moving within the country are enormous. Hospitals – even in the central part of the country – have a significant shortage of medicines. The people who remained in the country, in the east of the country, have even greater needs, in particular where there is no electricity, no water and no food.

We are working closely with the authorities of Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Sumy to help the people most affected by the warfare.
